Bus Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu

To get on a bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu, we must first buy the ticket from the Consettur company that costs:

To buy the Bus Consettur ticket you can do it directly from the internet by visiting their website www.consettur.com or visiting their office in Cusco Av. Childhood 433 Wanchaq Cusco, you can also buy it in the same town of Aguas Calientes.

Walk from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu

Another way to get to Machu Picchu from Aguas Calientes is by walking, for this there is a signposted road that you must follow until you reach the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu (Archaeological Zone), the walk lasts approximately 1 hour to 2 hours, all It will depend on the physical state of each person. Along the way you can see beautiful landscapes and it will be one of the unique adventures you can do.

You also have the option of making the walk from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu and for the return you can take the bus, so you will not end up very agitated.

Recommendations:
• If you are going to visit Machu Picchu and additionally the Huayna Picchu mountain or Machu Picchu Mountain it is advisable to get on a bus, otherwise you will end up very exhausted and you need to save energy.

Inca Trail to Machu Picchu

The best time to do the Inca Trail trek to Machu Picchu is in June, July, August and September. In these months the rains are scarce and in general there is a very sunny and clear climate. So you can enjoy beautiful landscapes and fully appreciate the Inca trail.

The months of May and October are also ideal for making the Inca trail, but on these dates there is usually little rain, sunny days and a lot of brightness.

The months of November, December and January, there are usually rains and you can find fog on the Inca trail, so it is not highly recommended. But if you are lovers of rain, cold weather this is not a problem.

In the month of February the Inca trail is closed to the general public, since in this month the Inca trail is maintained.

Book Inca Trail to Machu Picchu

To reserve the Inca Trail, it is advisable to do it 6 months in advance, even more so if you are going to do the Inca Trail from May to September, which is the best season to do the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. • The trip from Cusco Airport to your hotel in Cusco will take between 20 and 40 minutes, depending on city traffic.

• From Cusco Airport to your hotel in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, the trip will take between 1.5 and 2 hours, depending on your hotel’s location.

• From Cusco Airport to the Poroy train station, the trip will take 30 minutes, and from Cusco Airport to the Ollantaytambo train station, it will take between 1 hour 20 minutes and 1 hour 40 minutes, also depending on city traffic.

Cusco Tourist Ticket

The Cusco Tourist Ticket gives you access to the different tourist attractions in the city of Cusco. The only tourist attraction where you can buy the ticket is Sacsayhuaman, but it has an additional 3.05% fee.

With the general ticket, you can visit: Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara, Tambomachay, Chinchero, Moray, Ollantaytambo, Pisac, Tipon, and Pikillacta.

With the partial ticket for Circuit 1, you can visit Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay.

And with the partial tourist ticket for Circuit 2, you can visit Tipon and Pikillacta.

Finally, with the partial tourist ticket for Circuit 3, you can visit Chinchero, Moray, Ollantaytambo, and Pisac.

Humantay Lake

To visit Humantay Lake, a good level of physical fitness is required. The trail is uphill and rocky, making it more challenging.

How to get to Humantay Lake: There are several options for getting to Humantay.

Currently, Machu Picchu (Circuit 2) has 10 entrance times. This ticket allows you to visit the Machu Picchu archaeological site and is divided into two routes: Route 2 A and Route 2 B. Both tickets sell out quickly.

• Second time slot from 7:00 AM
• Third time slot from 8:00 AM
• Fourth time slot from 9:00 AM

If you’re visiting Machu Picchu during the first time slot, it’s recommended to arrive in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Village) the day beforehand so you can easily ascend to Machu Picchu the next day.

The best way to visit Machu Picchu is to always spend the night beforehand in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Village), regardless of the entry time. However, if you don’t have much time, you can visit Machu Picchu in one day from Cusco.

Bus to Machu Picchu

There are two ways to get to Machu Picchu from Aguas Calientes:
• The first option is to go by bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu, the trip takes approximately 30 minutes per section. And the price is 24 dollars for foreigners (round trip), and 15 dollars for Peruvians (round trip). The first BUS schedule is from 5:00 am.

• The second option is to walk from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu, the walk lasts approximately 1.5 hours per section and you can take advantage to see the beautiful landscapes on the way.

How to get to Machupicchu

To get to Machu Picchu there are several options:

• Machu Picchu by train: From Cusco you must go to the Ollantaytambo station and from there board the train towards Aguas Calientes. You can also board from the San Pedro, Poroy or Urubamba train station, for this you must verify your ticket and see from which train station you must board.

• Machu picchu by car: This is the cheapest option and lasts for 2 days and night.

• Inca Trail: The famous Inca trail is one of the best-selling options since this route runs out quickly and you must buy several months in advance.

• Route via Salkantay: From Cusco Machu Picchu, this tour is another of the most beautiful options since you will walk through beautiful landscapes and see the beautiful landscape of Salkantay.
