Hours of entry to MachuPicchu OFFICIAL 2026. Learn about the entrance times to the Machu Picchu archaeological site, also known as the Inca city of Machu Picchu. Machu Picchu is known for being the first tourist attraction in the city of Cusco and for being one of the New 7 Wonders of the World.

Machu Picchu Hours

Currently, Machu Picchu (Circuit 2) has 10 entrance times. This ticket allows you to visit the Machu Picchu archaeological site and is divided into two routes: Route 2 A and Route 2 B. Both tickets sell out quickly.

• First time slot from 6:00 AM
• Second time slot from 7:00 AM
• Third time slot from 8:00 AM
• Fourth time slot from 9:00 AM
• Fifth time slot from 10:00 AM
• Sixth time slot from 11:00 AM
• Seventh time slot from 12:00 PM
• Eighth time slot from 1:00 PM
• Ninth time slot from 2:00 PM
• Tenth time slot from 2:00 PM

If you’re visiting Machu Picchu during the first time slot, it’s recommended to arrive in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Village) the day beforehand so you can easily ascend to Machu Picchu the next day.

The best way to visit Machu Picchu is to always spend the night beforehand in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Village), regardless of the entry time. However, if you don’t have much time, you can visit Machu Picchu in one day from Cusco.

There are currently three circuits for visiting Machu Picchu/entrance tickets to Machu Picchu:
• Circuit 1: Divided into 4 routes: 1A, 1B, 1C, and 1D
• Circuit 2: Divided into 2 routes: 2A and 2B
• Circuit 3: Divided into 4 routes: 3A, 3Bn, 3C, and 3D

Route 1A + Machu Picchu Mountain has 2 entry times:
6:00 am and 8:00 am

Route 3A + Huayna Picchu Mountain has 2 entry times:
7:00 am and 9:00 am

Bus to Machu Picchu

There are two ways to get to Machu Picchu from Aguas Calientes:
• The first option is to go by bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu, the trip takes approximately 30 minutes per section. And the price is 24 dollars for foreigners (round trip), and 15 dollars for Peruvians (round trip). The first BUS schedule is from 5:00 am.

• The second option is to walk from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu, the walk lasts approximately 1.5 hours per section and you can take advantage to see the beautiful landscapes on the way.

How to get to Machupicchu

To get to Machu Picchu there are several options:

• Machu Picchu by train: From Cusco you must go to the Ollantaytambo station and from there board the train towards Aguas Calientes. You can also board from the San Pedro, Poroy or Urubamba train station, for this you must verify your ticket and see from which train station you must board.

Machu picchu by car: This is the cheapest option and lasts for 2 days and night.

Inca Trail: The famous Inca trail is one of the best-selling options since this route runs out quickly and you must buy several months in advance.

• Route via Salkantay: From Cusco Machu Picchu, this tour is another of the most beautiful options since you will walk through beautiful landscapes and see the beautiful landscape of Salkantay.
